About the event
Our Wind Down through Mindfulness series is a safe space for children aged 10+ who have been diagnosed with autism. Led by a certified instructor experienced in working with children on the autism spectrum, we'll explore mindfulness and mindful movement at your child's own pace.
Each one-hour session will begin with a breathing warm-up followed by a structured movement routine with visual cues to create a comfortable experience and empower any learner regardless of their level or experience. We'll close with a guided meditation to decrease sensory input and calm the nervous system for children and their parents/guardians alike.
This session is nature-themed, which we will incorporate to help to reinforce the learning of skills that manage emotions, self regulate, and develop body awareness. All participants will also leave with a takeaway resource or activity that can be used to continue developing mindfulness skills.
