Trauma-informed Training – Module 1/Yoga & Mindfulness in Court-involved and Recovery Programs

Trauma-informed Training: Mindfulness Practices to Improve Self-Regulation & Well-being for the Trauma Survivor. Module 1 will focus on trauma-informed Yoga and Mindfulness practices when working with court-involved (inmates, parolees, post-release, juvenile offenders) and addiction recovery clients. There will be 1 hour of pre-reading and -viewing that will be emailed to participants one week prior to the training. There will be 3.25 hours of contact instruction. Topics include: Overview of Trauma, Trauma-informed and mindfulness practices for emotional regulation and stress reduction, Non-violent Communication, Needs of the Specific Populations, and a sample class. This is a lecture-style seminar, but brief mindfulness and chair yoga sessions will be offered.
